Leadership Summit
Each year, the Southwestern Maine Activities Association hosts a leadership summit for the students of its seventeen member schools. Each member school chooses 10 students to attend the summit where they have the opportunity to engage in workshop sessions and hear from guest speakers on the the topics of leadership and citizenship.
On December 4, 2024 the SMAA held its twenty-sixth annual leadership summit at Sanford High School. This years summit theme was "Surviving and Thriving". Breakout sessions were presented by;
Chandler Fenner (2014 Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl Champion) on the topic "Leadership through the ranks, climbing to the top of success"
Jason Fuller (Athletic Administrator, Lewiston High School) on the topic "Humanity & Compassion in the Face of Adversity - A Community's Experience"
Andrew Marotta (Surviving & Thriving) on the topic "My Story, My Goals: An Active Goal-Setting Experience"
Andrew Marotta also provided the keynote presentation, _What's my story? Exploring the leader I want to be through stories, experiences and my impact on others"
